Working Capital Financing for Malt Production

Caspian Kouhdasht Company was registered in 1385 and has the capacity to produce standard malt and premium malt. Barley is one of the most important cereal crops cultivated in the country, with significant production in many regions, particularly the western provinces. However, within its supply chain, a large portion is consumed in raw form or marketed with low added value. Processing barley into malt, as one of the main ways to create added value, holds a special place in the food and agricultural processing industries. Malt is a product obtained by germinating and drying barley grains through a controlled, standardized process. It is widely used in non-alcoholic beverages, malted milk drinks, specialty breads, dietary supplements, and even certain pharmaceutical and personal care products. Malt also plays a supplementary role in the production of livestock and poultry feed, and in some countries it is used as a base for extracting enzymes and natural sweeteners. Given malt's role as a key link between agriculture and industry, developing this sector can help improve supply chain quality, diversify food products, and increase efficiency in the use of domestic resources. Accordingly, Caspian Kouhdasht Company intends to raise 150,000 million rials through crowdfunding on the Halal Fund platform to finance its working capital for purchasing barley and converting it into malt. This project uses a flexible funding model and will be considered successful if at least 60 percent of the amount requested by the project applicant is raised. Project returns (which are not guaranteed) are projected to be paid starting at the end of the third month and every 3 months thereafter; the principal will also be repaid at the end of the twelfth month, together with the corresponding returns. The principal is guaranteed by the applicant.
